Donald Fuller

Donald Fuller, age 88, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 4, 2023. He was born January 25, 1935, in Des Moines to Luther (Casey) and Helen Fuller.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 16, 2023, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines and will be followed by cremation. Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2023, also at Hamilton’s. Burial with military honors will take place at Glendale Cemetery after the funeral.

Don served in the Army, stationed in Germany, from 1957-1959 and was a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for Polk County in the 1960s. During his working years, Don was employed as a welder at Massey Ferguson, electrician for Pittsburgh Des Moines Steele, cleaning company at Grandview College for 15 years, and then a custodian at Westminster Church, where he retired.

Don enjoyed camping, gardening, fishing, and watching the wildlife of Iowa, as well as helping his neighbors.

Don was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, parents, and brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Lois Fuller.

He is survived by his daughters, Kim (Jeff) Allen and Lisa Solem. He leaves behind seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a slew of friends.
