Service Details

Dennis Foster, 77, passed away on Wednesday January 22, 2025. He was born January 5, 1948 to Frank and Betty (Garr) Foster in Moline, Illinois.

Dennis served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked many years in manufacturing in Ottumwa.

Dennis was also known by DenDen by his sister, Paula. Dennis had a huge green thumb. He had so many plants in the house you would think he was living in a green house. Not only did he love his plants, but fish as well. I think if he could come back he would either be a fish or a plant.

Dennis immensely loved playing cards at the V.F.W. or even at home with his family. You could always count on Dennis on the weekends either at HyVee having breakfast or Walmart shopping. He loved his sales. He had even enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets.

Christmas was a huge thing with him - the lights, the decorations, and don’t ever forget his villages he would put out each year.

Dennis has 4 grandkids, Christopher Foster (Erin Foster), Jordan Foster, Nicole (Foster) Rawson (Chad Rawson), and Chad Foster along with seven great-grandchildren.

Dennis is survived by his children, Frances Foster of Des Moines, Iowa and Joseph Foster of Fruita, Colorado; sister, Paula Marsh of Marshalltown, Iowa; and a host of other beloved family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Betty (Garr) Berry; father, Paul Berry; son, Atticus Foster; brothers, Gary (Foster) Berry and Paul Berry; and niece, Stormy Marsh.

His honorary pallbearers are Christopher Foster, Jordan Foster, Chad Foster, Billy Whisler.

Interment will occur at Iowa Veterans Cemetery near Adel at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family is loving memory of Dennis.
