Daniel C. Britton

Daniel Clyde Britton of Des Moines, IA passed away peacefully on February 27, 2024. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Iowa Veterans Cemetery.

Daniel was born in Syracuse, NY to Clyde H. Britton and Lillian (Britton) Jessmer on July 11, 1947. He graduated from high school and served in the U. S. Air Force as a Sergeant and was honorably discharged. Daniel enjoyed playing Dominoes, often with a Mountain Dew in hand, and listening to Christian music. He was an exceptionally talented painter.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde H. Britton and Lillian Jessmer.

He is survived by his brother, John Britton of Charlotte, NC and his children, Lorie Bollinger of Bridger, MT, Elisha Britton of Ankeny, IA, Charity Britton of Cedar Falls, IA, and Dan Britton of Waterloo, IA.

Our deepest gratitude is extended to the Veterans Administration of Central Iowa and all of the dedicated nurses, doctors, and social workers that took such good care of Daniel the last few years of his life in the Community Living Center.
