Dianna Blixt (Dyna), mother to Daniel Blixt and Libby Sharp (Josh), passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 in her home. Her final day was spent with her grandson doing the things they loved.

Dyna was born Dianna Marie Briar on December 24, 1952 in Des Moines to Charles and Rose Briar. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1971 and proceeded to DMACC for her degree in Dental Hygiene. She spent years as a dental hygienist before working for Xerox where she met Alan. Dyna and Alan were married on November 22, 1978 and lived in Des Moines. Shortly after the birth of their son, Daniel they moved to Urbandale and later had their daughter, Libby. Dyna became a homemaker and a part time hostess at Gino’s restaurant which she loved. In 1995, Dyna and Alan started their company, Electronic Connections, where they specialized in custom audio and visual design and installation for both residential and commercial. Being the boss came most naturally to her.

Known for her caring heart and immense passion for her family, Dyna will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Dyna’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing.

She is survived by her son Daniel Blixt, daughter Libby Sharp, son-in-law Josh Sharp, her grandsons Everett and Elliott Sharp, brother Michael Briar, nieces Keri Wang (Curt), Jessica Siedsma (Chad), Jamie Briar, nephew Justin, and stepfather Bill Oxley, and her father Charles Briar. In addition, many cousins and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband and partner of 42 years, Alan Blixt, mother Rose Oxley, brother Craig Briar, mother-in-law Mabel Blixt, father-in-law John Blixt, as well as several grandparents, family members and many close friends and of course her beloved dogs, Deejay and Jake.

Visitation will be held at the Hamilton’s Funeral Home: 605 Lyon Street Des Moines, IA, Wednesday, April 3, 2024 11:00am-1:30pm. Immediately following the visitation, a funeral will be held at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery: 34024 Veterans Memorial Dr, Adel IA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.
