I was Doris' neighbor for about 15 years. She was always friendly, generous and kind hearted. She would bring our garbage cans back up to the house on garbage day so they weren't on the street or wouldn't blow away. She would sometimes bring baked goods to us just because. I loved seeing her out in her garden all summer long. She worked hard everyday weeding and harvesting her veggies. She came to our wedding and visited with my Grandma the whole time. I'd like to think they would have been friends if they lived near each other. I think of Doris frequently and was sad to hear of her passing. Whenever I see lilacs, I will remember her. (I would sneak a few bunches when her lilac bush bloomed).

Doris was one of the sweetest, kindest lady I know. When I would see her, she seemed to always have a smile, no matter what. She was a special one to me. You sure will be missed by me and our church family, Doris! Love you Doris!
