Craig "CW" Collins

Craig William Collins, 68, passed away from natural caused after several years of health concerns.
Craig (CW) was born December 16, 1955 to Ronald and Mary Ann (Zimmerman) Collins in Davenport, Iowa. The family moved to Urbandale in 1968 after his dad’s transfer with Northwestern Bell’s Yellow Pages.
CW married Debra Shoeman on May 15, 1976 and born to this union were two children, Melissa in 1983 and Michael in 1988. They later divorced in 1997.
CW was a union electrician for ABC Electric and then went on to own Contractor’s Electric. Later he worked for Union Pacific Railroad.
Craig lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed boating and fishing at Lake Panorama. Throughout the years he owned many Harleys and corvettes. He especially enjoyed racing the corvettes. For more than 20 years he hosted a 4th of July party at his home which was along the Urbandale parade route. CW loved his family, especially being a grandpa and teaching his granddaughter to dance and cook.
Craig is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Collins; children, Melissa (Jace Snyder) and Michael Collins; granddaughter, Brei Antisdel; and sisters, Ronda McLaughlin and Stephanie Collins.
He was preceded in death by his father Ronald Collins.
A celebration of life gathering will be planned at a later date.
