She served in the US Army from 1977 to 1985 and served during Desert Storm. After her service, she worked for the Department of Corrections in Fort Madison and Mount Pleasant.
Upon relocating to Des Moines in 2000, she transferred her employment to the women’s facility in Mitchellville. Connie’s passion was to help women veterans through their challenges. She was a firm believer in Jesus Christ and loved to worship with her “church families”. Connie was a current member of the Base, an apostolic center, where her presence is definitely missed.
Connie loved sports of all kinds – especially football and lately, of course, women’s basketball. She loved traveling and made many friends around the world, especially in Kenya. She was an accomplished author, full of life and love.
