Clista Camp

Clista Marie Camp, 92, passed away December 15, 2025 at Bridges of Ankeny.

She was born October 5, 1933 in Des Moines, Iowa to her parents Frank and Regina Holzhauser. Clista graduated from North High School and worked at Younkers when she was a teenager. She then worked at Iowa State Bank for over 25 years before retiring. During retirement she continued to work part time at Smitty’s grocery and Hy-Vee.

Clista enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, gardening, doing puzzle books, and watching gameshows. She was an avid football fan and enjoyed cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles and Iowa State Cyclones.

Clista is survived by her son, Herb (Sheri) Camp; grandchildren, Henry Camp, Adalyn Camp, Marissa (Luke) Jackson, Christian Fouraker, and Mikayla Fouraker; and many other loving relatives and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Allen Camp; four infant children; parents, Frank and Regina Holzhauser; and brother, George (Tommy) Holzhauser.

Family will greet friends Tuesday, December 23, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue Des Moines. Memorial service will take place the following day Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, 524 NW 54th Avenue Des Moines.
