Charles Frederick Wellfort

Charles Frederick Wellfort, 37, passed away September 20, 2024 of natural causes. Services will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA. Family will greet friends following the service.

Charlie was born on July 16, 1987 in Des Moines, IA to Ruth and William Wellfort. He graduated from Millard South High School, and then attended Metro Community College. He worked in electrical sales for most of his career.

Charlie was a devoted father and enjoyed spending time with his children, many family members, and countless friends. He loved traveling to Florida and especially to the beach. Clear Lake was another favorite spot. Charlie also treasured time fishing, skate boarding and watching his beloved Minnesota Vikings and Nebraska Huskers.

He is survived by his parents, Ruth and William Wellfort; his siblings, Briggs and Ryan Wellfort; his children, Talan Charles Wellfort, twins Sophia Rose and Harper Mae Maddux; his nephew, Kingston Colby Wellfort; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Charlie was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Colby Wellfort; and his grandmother, Ruth Edith Colby Claiborne.
