Carole Ann (Seeley) Wade, 91, passed away on September 2, 2024, in Perry, Iowa. She was born January 13, 1933, in North Platte, NE to Ray and Ola “Peggy” Seeley.
Carole is survived by her husband, Bill Wade; their four children: Cindy (Mike) Staebell of Granger, Debbie (Lee) Moran of Granger, John Wade of Madrid, and Troy (Amanda) Wade of Lenexa, KS; 12 grandchildren: Jake and Josh Staebell, Ben (Darci), Dan (Shay), and JD Moran, Cali, Cody, and Taylor Wade, Sinell (Jerod) Harney, and Riley, Reagan and Tatum Wade; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
After graduating high school from Walla Walla, Washington, Carole met Bill Wade while she attended Whitworth College in Spokane, WA. The couple married in September of 1953. This week would have marked their 71st wedding anniversary.
Carole loved Jesus and was incredibly active in her church, especially in her years at First Federated Church in Des Moines where she was a leader in the women’s ministries, a volunteer in the MOPS program, a participant of the Galilean Sunday school class, and a Deaconess.
Carole loved her family greatly. She enjoyed following her children and grandchildren in all their activities, especially their sporting events.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Bill & Carole were always there, their door was always open. They were our youth counselors at First Baptist when we were in high school. They had 3 little kids yet their door was always open. They were at Forest Lake Church Camp when we first met (1964) and were the witnesses on our wedding license (1966). When we returned on leave, after our first two years in the military, it was Bill & Carole we wanted to see first after our families. In 1969 we showed up unannounced at their front door, very proud parents of a 6 week old daughter, to find Carole was pregnant with Troy. Bill & Carole have been life- long examples of how to walk with Christ, how to love one another, parent, and serve. Carole, thanks for the 60 year tutorial, we think we can make it from here. Love, Ben and Terrie Bishop

Carole was responsible for many inspirational programs for women at First Federated. She had a heart to serve the women there. She had a delightful sense of humor & laugh. I always enjoyed being around her. She was a ray of sunshine & warmth. My heart & prayers go out to Bill & to her family. My life was blessed to have known her.
