Carol Jane Larpenter

Carol (Furry) Larpenter, 85, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025 surrounded by family. She was born May 3, 1939, to Edgar and Mabel Furry in Des Moines, Iowa.

Carol's gifts were caring for her family and her nurturing spirit lives on. She spent most of her work career with the State of Iowa. She loved the Christmas holiday time and went to great lengths to ensure her family was provided for. Her grandsons were her pride and joy!

She is survived by her children, Larry (Debra) Larpenter and Craig Larpenter; grandchildren, Gregory, Benjamin, Alexander (Sofiya), Christopher and Theodore; great -grandson, Julien; and sibling, Edgar.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband Larry; her parents; and sisters, Virginia, Margaret and Dorothy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2025 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines with visitation one hour prior. Burial at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.
