Calvin DeVries

Calvin Benjamin DeVries, 89, passed away November 3, 2024.

He was born August 19, 1935 in Dumont, Iowa to Jacob and Katheryn DeVries. Calvin worked for the Carpenters Union #106 for many years before retiring. During retirement, he continued working for Hubbell Homes and fully retired in 2023. Calvin was a member of Somerset Baptist Church for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; his nieces and nephews; and Judy’s children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Calvin was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Nona; brothers; and sisters.

Family will greet friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines with memorial service beginning at 2:00 p.m. followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
