Carolyn J. Wright

Carolyn Jean Wright, 77, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

Carolyn was born April 10, 1946, in Des Moines, Iowa to Herman and Ruby (Brewington) Darrah.

She enjoyed reading romance novels and she loved playing APA tournament billiards. She enjoyed her Wednesday night Yahtzee games with Beth Wright. She loved Elvis Presley. The most important thing to her was her family and spending time with them.

She is survived by her daughters, Tina Diaz Smith (Mike), Misty Hoskins, and Wendy Owens (Danny); five grandchildren, Justin Toomey (Erica), Erin Toomey, Christina Wright, Nicole Hoskins, and Casey Hoskins; and four great-grandchildren.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Ervin (Ervy) Wright; her son, Arthur Wright; her father, Herman Darrah; and her mother, Ruby Micile.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2024, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Graveside service will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Des Moines immediately following visitation.
