Connie M Leydens

Connie Marie Leydens, 68, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024, peacefully at her home in Des Moines, Iowa.

Connie was born February 16, 1955, in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Phillip and Marguerite Edwards.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, fishing, watching movies, and watching her son Michael Jr. play in softball tournaments. She loved the Atlanta Braves baseball team and really enjoyed talking about how they were doing each season. She liked traveling across the U. S. with her kids to different places, crocheting blankets, and she dearly loved her two dogs, Tigger and Chica.

She is survived by her children, Carrie Hansen of Des Moines, IA, Heather (Chad) Furr of New Caney, TX, Michael (Jenny) Leydens Jr. of Des Moines, IA, and Ashley (Lino) Landeros of West Des Moines, IA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Heidi (John) Hanagan, Madisyn and Pyper Hansen, Bryce (Katelyn Benton), Alexis (Brad) Moore, Mackenzy and Jameson Leydens, ShayLeigh, Isabella and Paislee Landeros; and her great-grandchildren, Andrew and Wesley Benton, Addison Humbert, Walker and Weston Moore.

Connie was preceded in death by her father, Phillip F. Edwards; mother, Marguerite M. (Spicer) Edwards; and brother, John P. Edwards.

The family has decided to have a private family viewing on Wednesday with cremation services to follow.
