Carolyn Christine Dawson Froah was born in Des Moines, Iowa on February 14th, 1950 to Walter & Fern (Hardenbrook) Dawson. Carolyn went home to her Lord and Savior in Heaven on February 1st, 2024.

She graduated from Southeast Polk High School in 1968. Carolyn married her soulmate and love of her life, Bob Froah, in June 1968 and they celebrated 55+ years of marriage. To this union they were blessed with two beautiful Daughters, Nicole and Kristin.

Early in her life Carolyn worked for the State of Iowa in the Drivers License Division, but found her true calling at Southeast Polk High School as Confidential Secretary in the Counselor’s Office where she loved helping and getting to know so many students who became lifelong friends.

Her husband, children and grandchildren were her absolute pride and joy and the family spent many fun and happy years at their lake home boating, jet skiing and fishing. She loved all animals & grew up with a horse named Cherokee on her beloved Farm.

Carolyn was definitely born on the right day & was affectionately nicknamed Aunt Valentine as to know her was to love her, with so many people describing her as the sweetest and kindest person they had ever met. She had a huge amount of love in her heart.

Carolyn is survived by her Husband, Robert Froah, Grandson Blake Stephen (Karen Amelia), Granddaughter Zoey Wiese, Bonus Granddaughter Olivia Wiese and Bonus Grandson Parker Wiese, Brother-in-Law Frank Froah and Sister-in-Law Mindi Froah. She was also the proud Aunt of 8 Nieces and Nephews, 22 Greats and 43 Great-Greats.

Carolyn was preceded in death by both of her beloved Daughters, Nicole Lynn Froah and Kristin Lee Froah Wiese, her Parents, her Sister Mary Lou Howard, Brother Carroll Wayne Dawson, and Brother Jerry Lee Dawson.

The family will be having a Celebration of Life for Carolyn on Saturday, February 24th, 2024 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Shining Stars Hall in Pleasant Hill. There will be private family burial at Rising Sun Cemetery.
