Carolyn A. Fiser
November 17, 1943 — March 10, 2025
Carolyn Aleine was born November 17, 1943, to Mamie (Hinton) and Alva Taylor in Asheville, North Carolina. Carol learned to love on others during her childhood in Asheville by helping her mother care for children with special needs. Carol later moved to Des Moines with her brother Paul, and his family. It was here that she started her own family with Bill Weller, having two boys, Darold and Chuck. She later married Dean Fiser and had daughter Deana.
She had several jobs over her working years but spent most of her time in the printing industry as a prepress technician/stripper (she loved that joke) at Quebecor World where she retired.
Carol loved to travel and spend as much time outdoors as possible. She enjoyed time with family and friends while camping, bicycling, and watching races… making sure to document all of these experiences through pictures or video. As an adult she continued to open her heart and home to those in need, taking care of those around her and bringing them into her family.
Carolyn Aleine Fiser of Des Moines, Iowa passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Monday March 10, 2025, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Darold and her grandson, Koty.
Keeping her memory alive are her children, Chuck (Joleen) Weller and Deana Fiser, grandsons, Dakota Lupkes and Jackson Fiser, siblings, Paul (Louise) Taylor and Betty Jean Northen, nieces and nephews, Val (Cody) Paul, Mick (Kris) Taylor, Deb Ash, Bill Taylor and Vicki Taylor plus other great nieces and nephews and her bonus son, Scott Johnson.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be held later this spring, when it’s warmer, in the great outdoors because that’s what she would enjoy.
