Christine "Chris" English
November 08, 1952 — January 12, 2025
Christine Denise English, age 72, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Chris was born November 8, 1952, in Des Moines, Iowa to Russell and Carolyn (Richards) Hull. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and the best grandmother of her five grandkids and two granddogs. She on occasion liked to go gambling, shopping, and out to dinner. She was very close with her family and any chance to stay home and spoil her grandkids was her favorite thing to do. After her husband, Ted passed, she organized a Disney Cruise for the whole family. Because it was out of character for her, it was very special and a highlight and lasting memory for the family.
She is survived by her sons, Ryan (Amy) and Rusty (Lindsay); grandchildren, Lainey, Nolan, Jackson, Cooper, and Theo; siblings, Barry (Paula) Hull, Kim (Alan) Barr, Lori (Orlan) Rustan, and Shelley (Matt) Franko; sister-in-law, Jill English; several nieces, nephews, other extended family; and her Dinner Ladies.
Chris was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; parents, Russell and Carolyn Hull; in-laws, Tom and Stella English; brother, Russell Jerry Hull; and her granddogs, Max and Leo.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2025, at Rising Sun Church of Christ, 6390 NE Rising Sun Dr, Pleasant Hill, IA 50327. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2025, also at the church. Burial will take place at Rising Sun Cemetery after the funeral. There will be a luncheon at Rising Sun Church of Christ following the graveside service.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Chris.

You were hands downs the best bus driver I ever had. One of the sweetest most caring people I have ever met. You are going to be missed dearly, Chris.

Chris and I met in 1968 when we went to high school. We shared several classes together and marched with band -- she as a baton twirler and me as a flag twirler. We had remain connected ever since. I looked forward to her daily comment/posting online often with laughter. I have treasured her friendship for these five decades. My condolences to all who loved her.
