Bonnie Nirk
November 24, 1942 — February 22, 2025
Bonnie Lou Nirk, 82, passed away February 22, 2025. She was born November 24, 1942 in Des Moines, Iowa to her parents, Lee and Delores Johnson. Bonnie grew up on her parent’s farm and graduated from Runnells High School. She was a beautician for 30 plus years and loved being able to do people hair. Bonnie met the love of her life Dean in 1989 and they married in 1991.
Bonnie could be described as an angel. She was a very kind lady and made friends with anyone she met. She enjoyed taking care of people. Her favorite way to care for others was by sharing her homecooked meals. She was an amazing cook. Bonnie also enjoyed mushroom hunting on her parent’s farm and going to Prairie Meadows. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Dean; her son, Michael (Robin) Willetts; her daughter, Keiran (James) Bierly; and grandchildren, Bradlee Willetts, Kyle Willetts, Zayden Bierly, Raven Birely, Jae Bierly, Landon Bierly; sister, Karen Farrar; many great grandchildren; and a host of other loving family members.
Services will be held later this spring at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa.

I would like to wish my condolences to her family and husband for their loss. I used to work with Dean & Bonnie at the old Tones Spice plant on Dixon Street In Des moines, and when we all moved up to the new Ankeny plant.
Great people to know and be around, Bonnie always liked to have fun at whatever she was doing.
Sincerely
Beth & Bill Johnson
