Bounthan Khattiya

Bounthan Khattiya, 46, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

Bounthan was born October 19, 1976, in Xianghon Xayaburi, Laos to Saengkham Khattiya and Phay Inthaboun Khattiya.

He enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, hunting, and being outdoors. Bounthan loved all sports, especially soccer.

He is survived by his wife, Thiang Khattiya; children, Katherina, Kayson, and Spencer Khattiya; grandchild, Kendall Khattiya; parents, Saengkham and Phay Khattiya; siblings, Bountham Khattiya, Chomsaeng Chaialee, and Somkith Khattiya; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, other loving relatives, and many special friends.

Funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. Cremation will follow the service and a private family burial will be held at Glendale Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Bounthan.
