Bryant James Connett

Bryant James Connett, 35, of Lacona, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023.

Bryant was born on July 11, 1988 in Des Moines, Iowa. He had a big heart and the most beautiful smile.

He bought his first house in Des Moines before moving to Lacona in 2020. He worked as a Low Voltage Technician for Allied Universal.

Bryant spent countless hours of his life working on various household projects. He was a meticulous and organized man of many talents; he was exceptionally skilled at construction, drywall, painting, landscaping, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and so much more. Though he didn’t care for heights, he would scale a 20 ft ladder on a building rooftop without complaint. Members of the family recall his hard work, often on their behalf. He was reluctant to ask for help. For him, family came first. He was naturally a caring, selfless person. Bryant’s mother is convinced that the fact of his existence saved her life and that is one reason why God put him on this earth.

He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, though he didn’t have much time for it. He also enjoyed music and playing his guitar. His greatest love in this life was spending time with his kids.

Bryant is survived by his wife Ashley (Stoll), sons Jaxson and Trevor, daughter Mila, mother Marie Connett, grandparents Carroll and Donna Connett, aunt Joan and uncle Doug Van Damme, uncle James Connett, and cousin Jackie.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 21st at Hamilton’s Southtown (5400 SW 9th, Des Moines). Services will be held at noon on Friday, September 22nd at Hamilton’s Southtown, followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
