Billy Barnes

Billy Ray Barnes, age 72, passed away Monday, November 25, 2024.

Billy was born October 8, 1952, to Dan and Agnes Barnes. He proudly served in the United States Army for two years as Military Police. He worked as an RN at a veteran’s facility in Knoxville. Billy was an exceptional house painter, painting residential interiors and other places around town.

Billy loved cars, especially Mustangs, and he was a Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping and riding 4-wheelers. Billy liked playing the bass guitar, playing cards, and watching WWE wrestling.

Billy is survived by his wife, Joann Heim; children, Brian Heim (Sandy), Tim Heim (Sara), Steve Heim (Lynn), Billy Groomes, and Joann Farlow; grandchildren, Leila, Levi, Alayna, Connor, and Colby; siblings, Judy Allen (Jerry) and Doug Barnes (Tammy); as well as many nieces, nephews, other loving family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Agnes Barnes; siblings, Peggy Lockridge, Melody Jones, Adel Sams, and Sara Barnes; and his uncle, John Moyer.

Cremation will occur and there will be no services held at this time.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Billy.
