Audrey Carlos

Audrey Carlos, 89, passed away May 23, 2024, at Every Step Hospice Kavanagh on 56th.

Audrey was born March 30, 1935, in Des Moines to George and Anna (Fitzgibbons) Peterson. She retired from Younkers Bakery in 1997. Audrey enjoyed playing games, Rummikub and Bingo were two of her favorites. She also loved going thrift shopping.

Audrey is survived by her children, Judy (Jerry) Sharpe, Diana (Mike) Carlos-Pirillo and William Carlos, Jr.; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Carlos, Sr; mother, Anna Peterson; infant brother, George; and her beloved, sister, Haleen Houge.

The family will greet friends Friday, May 31, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 11:30 a.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Audrey will be laid to rest immediately following services at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
