Ann Marie Mahoney Culver, 72, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family members, on May 3, 2024.
Ann was born February 6, 1952, in Des Moines, Iowa to her parents, Paul and Frances (Griffin) Mahoney. She attended St. Anthony’s grade school and was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy in Des Moines. After graduation she started working for North Western Bell.
She met and married her husband, Ronald Culver and they enjoyed 52 years together. She left North Western Bell to become a stay-at-home Mom to three daughters and a son, dedicating all her time to her husband and children.
Annie was very kind, loving, funny, and always wanted to be the life of the party. She had a heart of gold, and everyone knew she had an open-door policy. She provided a safe place to anyone needing it including family and friends. Everyone always knew they could count on her.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ronald; daughters, Stacy (Jason) Thompson, Krista (Dennis) Douglas, and Roseanna Culver; son, Joseph Culver (Katie Zogorski); brothers and sisters, Rosemary Mahoney, Madeline (Rick) Storey, Cathy McAninch (Fred Windhorst), John (Lisa) Mahoney, Teresa (Floyd) Graham and Patti (Craig) Knight; grandchildren, Chad (Renee Ratchford) Cherrier, Christopher (Dani) Cherrier, Nicholas Cherrier, Kiersten (Gaige) Johansmeier, Sophia Douglas, Jered (Alyssa Meyers) Douglas, Kadence Baccam and Karter Baccam; great-grandchildren, Bella Johnson, Carson Cherrier and Riley Douglas.
Annie was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, James (Sharri) Mahoney and Bernard (Barb) Mahoney; and nephew, Brendan Mahoney.
All services will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, Iowa with visitation on Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and the funeral service on Friday, May 10 at 10:00 a.m.
Memorials may be directed to the family for distribution to Des Moines charities helping children. Condolences of sympathy may be expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.

Ron and family, my sincere condolences on the loss of Ann. I worked with Ann many years ago at MC Advantages. Ann was a great friend who was always looking out for me in her motherly way. She will be greatly missed and will miss her checking in on us and the kids. I pray that God will give you comfort and strength during this difficult time.

I'm very sorry for the loss of Ann. I hope you all can celebrate her memory with the telling of great stories. I am out of state during the visitation and funeral and will sadly miss it.
