Angelica Dirksen

Angelica Therelle Dirksen, 8, passed away January 1,2025.

She was born April 4, 2016 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She went to live with Travis and Andrea Dirksen in Ankeny, Iowa when she was six months old, where Gelli was deeply loved by her parents.

"Gremlin" loved all things, especially Mickey Mouse, Bubbles, leaves floating in the air, snowflakes falling from the sky, motorcycle rides, splashing in the water and just being outside.

Angelica attended East Elementary in Ankeny, Iowa where she was in third grade. Angelica had a huge impact on fellow students and the staff without ever saying a word.

She is survived by her parents, Travis (Bridget), Andrea Dirksen; brothers and sisters, Skyler, Cameron, Blake, Maisy, Nori, Rhett and Ollie; grandparents, Jerry and Elaine Dirksen, and Gloria Jordan; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Angelica was preceded in death by her grandpa and grandma, Tunney and Lita Jordan.

Family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Memorial will take place the following day at 12 PM also at the funeral home with burial to follow at Ankeny Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 4209 North Ankeny Blvd in Ankeny.
