Aedan Michael Madrigal, 35, peacefully passed away after putting up a fierce fight due to complications from cancer on June 25, 2024 at the age of 35. He leaves his friends and family with a wealth of cherished memories and a legacy defined by kindness and fostering connections among others.

Aedan, more lovingly known as “Bey”, was born to Daniel Madrigal and Delores Segura on July 9, 1988 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He pursued his education at Christian Life Academy and later earned his Bachelor's degree from Loyola University in New Orleans. His career journey took him from Baton Rouge to Des Moines, where he made a significant impact working with Wells Fargo. He also served as the president of Vision Leads, a local advisory group encouraging community members to get involved in local government.

In his leisure time, Aedan found solace in the music of Britney Spears and Beyoncé, often accompanied by his faithful feline companions. He delighted in outings to the movies, where he enjoyed indulging in extra-large popcorn. Aedan was also a dedicated member of OrangeTheory Fitness, where he found joy in staying active and healthy. His commitment to community service was evident through his volunteering efforts, leaving a lasting impression on those around him.

Aedan was a beloved son to Delores Segura of Baton Rouge, LA; a dear godson to Angela Whittaker of Prairieville, LA; and cherished by his family in Kansas City. He also shared his home in Des Moines with his beloved cats, Sue, Ed and Nori, who brought him great joy and comfort. Aedan's warmth, generosity, and love for life touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, and colleagues.

A celebration of Aedan's life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2024 with a time of sharing at 3:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA. A recording of the Celebration of Life will be uploaded within the days that follow.
