Angela Bibbins-Whelchel
January 01, 1953 — January 11, 2025
Angela Lou Bibbins-Whelchel, age 72, fell asleep in death on Saturday, January 11, 2025.
Angela was born January 1, 1953, in Des Moines, Iowa to Albert and Ethel Bibbins, two loving parents who provided a solid foundation for her life to come. Her mother, Ethel succumbed to death in 1978, her father, Albert in 1981, and her older brother, Alonzo in 1991.
Angela graduated from Tech High School in 1972. She enjoyed her upbringing and young life with her siblings, Alonzo Lee Bibbins, Albert L. Bibbins II, Alexine Janet Bibbins, and Anthony Leo Bibbins. She held many jobs specializing in office and executive administration. Angela was raised in the Des Moines area, moving to Phoenix, Arizona from 1991 to 2002, before setting back in Des Moines. She married Richard Whelchel in 2001.
Angela is survived by her two sons, Michael Antoine Bundy and Andre Tyrie Ramon Bundy (Jessica). She had nine grandchildren, Andre Bundy II, Jasmine Greer, Vanessa Jordan, Michael Bundy II, Marquis Bundy, Desirae Bundy, Jamari Bundy, Joshua Walker, and Zane Walker; and three remaining siblings, Alexine Bibbins, Albert Bibbins, and Anthony Bibbins.
Her love and passion was being a faithful and loyal servant of Jehovah and attending her local congregation at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses for the majority of her life. She loved discussing the Bible and sharing the good news of the soon-to-come New Kingdom with Jesus Christ established as Reigning King.
Angela was a compassionate person and was passionately dedicated to providing care for others. A single mother of two, she selflessly devoted herself to her children and grandchildren, caring for their needs and providing for their wants, so that they felt rich beyond their means. Her family was the cornerstone of her existence and she cherished every moment that she was able to spend with them.
She was a devoted Doula who supported countless families through the birth of their children and their transitions home after the birth. She had a large friend group and she loved to travel. Angela also had a big heart and felt moved to assist others in need.
