In Loving Memory of Dr. Arkea Robinson
An Adventurous Soul Who Inspired a Generation

Dr. Arkea Tennille Robinson was born on October 15, 1976, in Des Moines, Iowa to Stephen Eugene and Lilly (Bradley) Robinson. Arkea departed this life at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas on January 17, 2025.

Preceding Arkea in death: Grandmother, Pearlie Mae Cooper; Grandfathers, Arthur English, Lamont Cooper, and Ray Edmond Moore; Great-Grandparents, Bessie Clark, Abraham and Annabell Bradley, Lillie Belle Bradley, and Arthur and Mary English; Uncles, Arthur English and Ray (Joey) Moore. And a host of Great Aunts, Great Uncles, and Cousins.

Arkea leaves to cherish her memories: Daughter Aniya Ross, Parents Stephen and Lilly Robinson, Brothers Stephen Tyre and Marcus Robinson, Extended Brother Donald Williams, Sister Brandi Miller. Aunts: Betty Bates, Debra English, Raynelle Fuller, Evelyn Moore and Ramona Omer. Uncles: Jeffrey, Michael and Keith English, Antonio, Mark and Clarence Moore and Keith Chatman. Nieces and Nephews: Kaydynce Nelson, Amari, Makenah, Cameron, Tyleigh and Teghan Robinson, Deminque, Malique and Isaiah Miller. Godparents: Classie and William (Lewis) Kinney and Linda and David Brewer, Arkea leaves a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends.

Dr. Arkea Robinson, a trailblazer, leader, and beacon of light, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering dedication to others. Being recognized by the Joint Chief of Staff, she exemplified strength, strategy, and vision in every role she embraced.

A proud graduate of Old Dominion University, North Carolina A&T University, and Tuskegee University, Dr. Robinson’s academic journey reflected her relentless pursuit of excellence. After completing a rigorous management academy, she carved out a remarkable career in engineering, becoming a consultant and trusted advisor, both personally and professionally. Her passion for exposing youth to the world of engineering became one of her greatest missions, inspiring countless young minds to dream big and aim higher.

Dr. Robinson was more than her professional accolades. She was a fierce Black activist, a spiritual guide, and a devoted mother. Her role as a child advocate highlighted her compassion and unwavering commitment to shaping a brighter future for the next generation.

A free spirit and adventurer at heart, Arkea found joy in exploring life’s possibilities, embracing each moment with courage and curiosity. To her family, friends, and colleagues, she was more than a leader—she was a cheerleader, a confidante, and a source of light in their lives.

As a daughter, friend, animal lover, and mother, she radiated unconditional love and support. Her faith grounded her, guiding her through life’s challenges and victories with grace and resilience.

Dr. Robinson’s legacy lives on through the lives she touched, the youth she inspired, and the countless people who had the honor of knowing her. She was not only an engineer of structures but of hope, opportunity, and possibility. She leaves behind a lasting imprint on the world—her spirit a reminder to dream without limits and live with purpose.

Rest in peace, Dr. Robinson. You were, and always will be, a light, an adventurer, and an irreplaceable inspiration.
