Ardith "Jane" Jennings

Ardith “Jane” Jennings was born July 22, 1935, in Davenport, Iowa to Marion and Geraldine (Green) Cook. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at the age of 88 years.

Jane was the only child born to her parents. She graduated from Davenport High School and worked for the phone company, Northwestern Bell, until her retirement in the 1980s. Jane moved to Des Moines in the 1960s. She and her husband, Mel, went on many trips in their motorhome. They enjoyed snow skiing and going on vacations with the family. Jane loved antiques and would collect them and filled her house with them.

Jane is survived by her son, Jeff Jennings; granddaughters, Amanda (Jesse) Stenberg and Julie Jennings; and great-grandchildren, Breaunna, Madisyn, Gavin and Oliver. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mel in 2005 and her parents.

There will be no services held at this time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa in honor of Jane’s love of cats.
