Andrew Joseph Farmer, age 72, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, November 14, 2024.

Andrew was born on August 8, 1952, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Joe Edgar Farmer, Jr. and Jeanine Rae (Greenough) Geraets. After graduation, he began his career with the Des Moines Register, retiring from the mail room in 2015. Andrew enjoyed vacationing in Ft. Meyers with his wife. He liked going to sprint car races in Knoxville, and bowling and golf in his younger years. Above all, his family was his greatest love and he adored his grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, Greg (Miranda) Farmer; daughter, Kelsie Farmer; grandchildren, Antonio and Adeline; siblings, Alice Ahlquist, Patricia Harms, Cheryl Rikansrad, Doug Geraets, and Jim Geraets; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanine Geraets and his beloved wife of 42 years, Kyle Farmer on May 27, 2024.

A joint celebration of life for Andrew and Kyle will be held at a later date.
