Service Details
Linda Marie Cook, 62, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, July 5, 2011.
Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Inurnment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Adel, Iowa.
Linda was born October 23, 1948, in Iowa City, Iowa to Norma Jean and Lawrence Scritchfield. She worked for the state of Iowa until her recent retirement. Linda was a member of the American Legion and Auxiliary Post 464, Adel and enjoyed her cat, George.
Linda is survived by her son, Tim (Cyndi) Cook; granddaughter, Emily; aunt, Shirley (Bob) Wolfe; and cousins, Denise McAtee and Chuck Wolfe. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Randy Witkowski; and step-father, Frank Witkowski.

I am sorry for such a late response, hope this is received. I worked indirectly with Linda and enjoyed may conversations in the lunch room about her family and especially her granddaughter who was such a joy to her. Linda was a good person with a big heart. Linda now is pain free and has her wings, hope some peace can be found with that. My condolences to the family as I know she will be greatly missed by all who cared for her.

Tim and family:
I am so sorry to see your mother passed. Years and years ago you, your mom, my children Alyse, Chris and Jared and I went on vacation together. I think we had a great time. We went to Galina, Illinois and for a ride on the river boat on the Mississippi and went through the locks. You probably don't remember. Your mom was a lovely lady and I enjoyed spending time with her. She will live in your heart forever. God bless.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. I worked with Linda for quite a long time with the state. She was a wonerful lady and talked of her son, daughter in law and granddaughter. She will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.
