Heather Michele Lacey, 38, was born February 26, 1973 in Cleveland, Ohio and passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends Tuesday, July 5, 2011 after a courageous battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Heather is survived by her mother, Emily Buckner; father, Greg Jackson; sister, Alexis Y. Lacey; brother, Gregory A. Lacey; nephew, Curtis Lamar Lacey; nieces, Alexis E. Lacey, Dasia Jordan Black and Jada A. Lacey and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and many special friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 937 37th St. in Des Moines. Memorial contributions may be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 8033 University Blvd., Clive, Iowa, 50325, designated specifically for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Research in loving memory of Heather.
The family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to Heather’s co-workers and Supervisors at Principal Financial Group for all of their love and support.

Words cannot express the sadness in our hearts and we miss you so much but we know that you are a child of God and take comfort in knowing that he called his angel home to suffer no more. Your spirit will live forever with all of your kindness, the gestures of love and always keeping the faith that family and friends would never forget the love you always showed to us all.
Life is but a stopping place, a pause in whats to be, a resting place along the road to sweet eternity. We all have different journeys, different paths along the way. We all were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay. Our destination is a place far greater than we know. For some the journeys quicker, for some, the journeys slow. And when the journey finally ends, well claim a great reward & find an everlasting peace, together with the Lord.
And to Ms. Emily & family, this is a time of gathering all the best of Heather's good life into the pages of our memories to be held in our hearts forever. Trust that God will be especially close in these hours of need. We are keeping you close in thought and prayer that her loving memories will bring you peace and comfort.
Thank You Heather, for your life, your love and friendship. The reason it hurts so much to separate is because our souls are connected & tied within our hearts. We pray for rain to wash away our pain, but thru the light of your love, faith in friendships, and the warmth of your smile let it bring us peace to know your spirit is still here bringing calm to our grief.

A beautiful young lady gone away to soon. My prayers are with the family. I worked with Heather at Allied (Nationwide) Insurance,and anytime I would run into Heather she always had that big smile, always happy with no complaints.
She will be missed. Rest in peace Heather.

It has been hard losing our wonderful friend Heather this week! We loved , cherished and most of all have been blessed to have known her! On a few different occations my brother, Kim and I hugged Heather and Emily but now we feel empty inside to see our friend Heather gone today!
Emily and family I am very sorry about your loss of a true friend, sister, aunt, niece, daughter and etc.. Heather has touched and lifted many people including my self and it brings tears to my eyes right now as i will truely miss her! Emily we love you and we will keep you in our prayors as you do the same!

My only regret is that you never reached out for comfort ..But im not suprised my dear friend you always gave so much of yourself. My heart jus sank to hear you had ended your journey & entered the gates of heaven. My only regret is not seeing your warm smile before you left. You was an achiever, very successful at anything you did, sharp, classy & top*notch at your game. I am sad to hear of your passing, but I hope there is comfort in knowing GOD will take care of you now. You will be missed!!!!
