Carl Blakley

Carl R. Blakley, age 59, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011, at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport, Iowa.

Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2011, at the Linn Grove Cemetery in Norwalk.

Born October 28, 1951, Carl was the son of Frank and Maxine (Hines) Blakley. He grew up and attended school in Des Moines. In 1983 Carl was united in marriage to Elsie Thomas. The couple was blessed with one daughter, Michelle. They made there home in Des Moines where Carl was co-owner and operator of C & J Trucking for 30 years.

Carl’s collections included antique cars and guns, and he also enjoyed grilling in his free time. He was a member of the Za-Ga-Zig Shriners, and Masonic Lodge #110.

Carl is survived his daughter; Michelle Blakley of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie; and parents, Frank and Maxine.
