Robert Hamm

Arlo Hamm passed away on Friday, April 13, 2007 at the Hospice Kavanagh on 56th following a short illness. Arlo was born on March 25, 1919 in Shambaugh, Iowa, the son of Jim and Lydia (Huddle) Hamm. He graduated form Braddyville High School in 1938. He married Helen Duran in 1939 and lived and worked in Bedford, Iowa and Clearmont, Missouri for Darrell Davidson before moving to Clarinda in 1952 where he continued to work for the Davidson Oil Co. until his retirement.
Surviving to cherish his memory are daughters, Connie (Gary) Clark of Des Moines, Beverly (Paul) Swanson of Clarinda; his brother, Clifford (Dorothy) Hamm; sister, Beulah "Bea" Gates of Shenandoah; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews as well as his cousins, Bob (Maxine) Hamm of Clarinda and Gloria Pullen. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen; daughter, Jolene; grandson, Don Swanson; sister, Alice Snodderly and nephew, Bob Gates.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Clarinda Cemetery.
Memorials can be given to the family in his name. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
