Henry Khouane Cavan was born on June 15, 1950 in Muong Moui, Sonla, Vietnam. He passed away at Mercy Medical Center on Friday July 1, 2011, at the age of 61.

Henry had a strong faith in God. He was a lifelong member of the Lifesong Church of the Open Bible and served on the Leadership Team. He was also a member of Hak Hom and SOTAF. Henry was a great husband and father and loved visiting his grandchildren. He was a caring person who put others before himself and never complained. Henry was a very hard worker and loved fishing. He was going to buy a boat when he retired. He also loved going out to eat and traveling. He was a very giving person who will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at First Church of the Open Bible, 2200 Beaver Avenue, Des Moines at 2 p.m., on Saturday July 9, 2011. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial of cremated remains will be at Glendale Cemetery in the Tai Dam section at 9 a.m. Monday July 11.

Henry is survived by his wife of 34 years, Chanda; daughters, Jeanda, Lena and Diana; sons, Phillip and Christopher; four grandchildren, Kyenn and Tayton Baccam, Braeden Hoang, and Gibson Cavan; siblings, Chipp, Somnuk, Deua and Bounlai. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cavan Gion and Lo Thi One.
