Floyd H. Walters, Jr., 60, died on June 24, 2011 at his home. He was born July 8, 1950 in Des Moines.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Myers; father, Floyd Walters, Sr.; brother, Gary (Janet) Walters; sisters, Vicki (Tom) Caylor, Terry (Shannon) Post, Lori Leeper; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, July 1, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. A visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time on Friday.

Floyd and I have been friends since I moved to Des Moines. Through good times and bad, Floyd and I have always had time to talk and share stories. I will miss him very much.

Deepest Sympathy to all the friends and family of Floyd. Although I'm not in Iowa now, my thoughts and prayers go out to you all for the loss of such a good man and a great friend. He will be sorely missed.

I send my condolences for the lost of Floyd. Floyd and I shared the same birthday and for many years that was sufficient reason to stop and have a drink together and discuss old times. I had planned on doing the same a week from Friday.
