Faye Porter

Faye Yvonne Porter, 77, passed away June 27, 2011, at Taylor House Hospice. She was born January 31, 1934, in Tama, Iowa, to Ralph and Nellie Hopkins.

Faye enjoyed cooking, baking and fishing. She was a huge Elvis fan, but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren.

Faye is survived by her husband, Robert Porter; daughter, Pam Brown; sisters, Jean Speck, Bev Speck, Sharon Hopkins and Joanne Gonzalez; brother, Robert Hopkins; four grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Joseph Porter; sisters, Jennie Heinz and Mary Emery; and brother, William.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home, followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
