Barbara Jean Kersey

Barbara J. Kersey was born August 3, 1931. Mom went home to be with her heavenly father on May 14, 2011.

Barbara was born in Des Moines and lived here for most of her life. She worked as a Nurse’s Aid at Northwest Hospital in Des Moines. She attended the Assembly of God church and enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzle books, being with family and friends, as well as collecting angels.

She is survived by her daughter, Terri (Perry) Triggs; son-in-law, Dan Anderson; grandchildren, Stephanie (Matt) Baker, Erik Triggs, Jenna Anderson, Randal (Katt) Anderson, Ron (Alana) Anderson; great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Taylor, Carson, and McKenzie; brother, Jack (Vonnie) Adamovicz; and her sister, JoAnn Adamovicz. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur Kersey; two brothers; three sisters; daughter, Deanna; and the love of her life, Fred Evans.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, June 25, 2011, at the Altoona Hy-Vee Club Room.

Barbara enjoyed giving to the Breast Cancer Society and St. Jude Hospital and wished memorials be directed there.
