Bonnie Howard

Bonnie Howard, 81, died Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday, April 16, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Warren Powers Cemetery in Adelphi. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Bonnie was born January 14, 1926 in Zuckspur, Iowa to Nancy and Benjamin Palmer. She graduated from East High School. On March 31, 1944 she married Oral “Bill” Howard in Des Moines. Bonnie worked as a cook for Delta Zeta Sorority, as well as Bishop’s Cafeteria and the Des Moines Schools. She drove a school bus for the SE Polk Schools for 15 years. Bonnie attended Highland Park Church of the Nazarene. She loved spending time with her family. Bonnie enjoyed writing poetry.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Oral “Bill” Howard; sons, Terry (Linda), Randy (Melanie) and Richard (Tammy); 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; her sister, Elzada Snider. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Pamela Andersen and her son, Kenneth and her sisters, Mary Mentzer and Dorothy Linderoth.
Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Park Church of the Nazarene.
