Frank James DeFino was born on September 25, 1917, to Dominic and Rose (Lavia) DeFino. He died peacefully on June 22, 2011, with his wife and his daughter at his side.

Frank married Josephine Pirillo in September, 1941. To that union, which subsequently ended, was born one daughter, Lynn A. DeFino of Palm Springs, CA. In 1964 he and his current wife, Lynn J. DeFino met and began a life-long love affair. They married on October 13, 1984.

Frank was raised in a home filled with music and became an accomplished guitar player, performing at many venues and events over the years. He passed this musical legacy to his daughter, a songwriter and musician and his nephew, Dan Soda.

Frank was a real estate broker for a number of years and retired as a small business owner in 1996. He enjoyed music, gardening, fixing just about anything, and the traveling that he and Lynn were able to do, including a most memorable trip to Italy in 2006.

Frank is survived by his wife, Lynn J. DeFino; his daughter, Lynn A. DeFino; his very special nieces, Michelle Largent and Colby Lindsey; his sisters, Jennie Reed and Lucretia Cimino; brothers, Anthony (Mary) DeFino and Armand (Betty) DeFino. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joe DeFino.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 24, from 5 to 8 p.m., with a vigil service at 6:30 p.m., at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 25, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. The body will be cremated, and inurnment will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Grotto Fund.
