George Peters

George Henry Peters, 59 passed away at home his home Wednesday, April 11, 2007. Memorial services will be held at 7 pm Monday, April 16, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Peters was born February 28, 1948 in Des Moines, the son of Earnest and Margaret (Taylor) Peters. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. Mr. Peters was the Compliance Manager for the Iowa Civil Rights Commission until his retirement in 2006. His hard work and dedication to the community helped increase public awareness and aided in the education of civil rights laws.
Mr. Peters is survived by his beloved sister, Shirley Briscoe of Kansas City, Missouri and many nieces and nephews.
