Service Details
David Welch, 48, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2011, at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
All services will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011, with burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
David is survived by daughters, Amy (Joel) Klapproth and Amanda Daniel; son, Jonathon (Crystal) Welch; six grandchildren and one on the way; parents, Bill and Joyce Welch; and brother, Dan Welch and Teresa Burriola, all of Des Moines. He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of David.

My condolences go to Davids family, I am daves cousin and friend from long ago when we were kids. He will be deeply missed. May our Lord God give his soul eternal rest in heaven where he truly belongs. to danny and aunt Joyce and uncle Bill and Daves family. We did not have the honor to know David, but all that I have heard from Teresa tells me that he was a very good man,and will be missed by everyone that was blessed to know him.
I know that this is a very hard time for your family,losing a son ,brother ,father and granfather, but we all have to remember that God needs angels for a reason and from what I have been told he was truly an angel in many peoples eyes.
My deepest thoughts and prayers are with each and every one of you.

Dave was one of those guys that could brighten your day. Dave always had a smile on his face. We lost a friend and a brother. Its still hard to believe this has happened. Work will not be the same. It has been an honor to know you.

Working with Dave was one of the best times in my life. He always had an amazing attitude and he always had a smile that lit up the room and made others smiles as well. Dave will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

It is hard walking into work every morning and not seeing dave. he would always say something to get your mind going or he would crack some kind of joke. he was always a person to go to if you did not know the answer. he was a great co-worker to many of us and will always be a great friend. until we meet again dave.

Officer David Welch; you will be truly missed by so many family members,co-workers, and many friends more than you even know. The lord only takes the good ones home to heaven and he asked you if you were ready to go home and you said your duties were finished on earth and you was ready to go home even if their some things that were left un-done than it was meant to be. Please don't cry for me know because I lived a good life and I will help all of you through the times ahead if you ask me. David please tell you Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Walt Keehen and Your Grandparents Welch hello and tell them that they are still missed by many friends and family members. We are so glad that"GOD" took you home now and David you are no longer suffering and no longer have any more pain, but you are just another angel in heaven. With Our Deepest

I am truly sorry for your loss. Officer Welch was a great guy who would always give me grief for driving a Chevy, while he loved his Ford. He always had a smile on his face. He will be truly missed!!!
