Michael Dean Pinnick

Michael Dean Pinnick, 62, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011, due to acute pneumonia, and suffered a long time with emphysema and alcoholism. He was born in Quantico, VA, grew up in Des Moines, and attended Des Moines Technical High School. He entered the Army at age 17 and served four years. Michael later lived in Colorado and Iowa. He took pride in his work as a carpenter and enjoyed his hobbies of dog training, hunting, leather work, and ‘cars,’ 32 in all.

Michael was hard-worker, a caring person, but a curmudgeon, like a sea urchin - - prickly on the outside, soft on the inside.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Pinnick; brother, John; sisters, Sally and Elizabeth; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, William Pinnick; brothers, Patrick and Ronald; and grandparents, John and Lillian Pinnick and Hugh Lint and Sally Stephens.
