Cody Michael Christian Brazelton, 26, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011, in Des Moines. He was born April 3, 1985, in Des Moines to Michael and Dorcia Brazelton.
Cody was a wonderful son and father. He had a big heart and loved his son Jayden very much. Cody enjoyed playing with his dog, Argo; he liked to go fishing, and was passionate about music, playing his guitar whenever he could. First and foremost, Cody loved spending time with his family. He and his mother had a special bond that only a mother and son could share.
Cody is survived by his parents, Dorcia Brazelton and Michael (Pam) Brazelton; son, Jayden Scovel; step-brothers, Gabriel and Ricky Rivera; grandfather, Daniel Brazelton; grandmother, Betty Spidle; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Juanita Jean Brazelton and grandfather, Albert Spidle.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, June 17, 2011, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be made to Banker’s Trust where a memorial fund has been established for Cody’s son, Jayden.

I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't know Cody very well, but he was the grandson of one of my favorite uncles. So I'm sure he was a good young man. Prayers go out to your family and especially jaydon!!

Words cannot express the sorrow we feel for the loss of your son. Our boys grew up together, and Ben and Brian knew Cody as more of a brother than a friend. Our heart goes out to you, his family, his friends, and especially Jayden. May God wrap his loving arms around you, and comfort you in your time of need!

Cody was there the day I found out I was pregnant and scared out of my mind but dome how he made it all better made me laugh smile and was always there to talk no matter what . He made a decision to go before his time for what ever reason and he will be greatly missed by so many and missed by me for we still talked and I will miss him dearly he will always be in my thoughts ...

No words will ever fill the hole that has been left in the hearts of friends and family. My sympathy an prayers go out to the family of Cody as well as his son. He will always be remembered and missed. God Bless you all and may he give you strength to get through such difficult times.
