Theron "Pete" Peterson

Theron “Pete” Peterson passed away June 2, 2011 at Scottish Rite Park. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 7 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street with private burial following. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Pete was born January 20, 1917 in Abbott, CO., to Bernice and Carl E. Peterson. He worked as West Coast Supervisor for John Hancock Insurance Company. Pete served in the US Air Force. He also was a member of the University of Iowa Alumni Association, the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite of Freemasonary, Aahmes Temple AAOMMS and Commandery of Knights Templer. Pete enjoyed reading, making friends, and traveling especially by train.

Pete is survived by a cousin, Shirley (Joseph) Nedham; friends, David and Connie Tharp and many friends around the world.

In Pete’s honor, memorials can be made to Iowa Hospice or the American Red Cross Disaster Fund.
