Stanley A. Hicks

Stanley A. Hicks, 61, passed away at his home May 30, 2011 at 7:23 p.m. The family will greet friends from 12 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.

Stanley was born June 14, 1949 to Colleen Hicks and Thomas A. Griffith and was raised by his mother, Colleen and step-dad, Burton Hicks. He worked for Des Moines Asphalt before becoming a cab driver. He retired from Capital Cab in 1988. Stanley was a great father and enjoyed fishing, camping and watching horse racing.

Stanley was preceded in death by his mother and step-father and brother, Lester “Joe” Allen Hicks. Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife, Presha Carolyn Hicks; sons, Chadd, Todd and Matthew Hicks; grandchildren, Joey, Nichole, Alissa and Hope; sisters, Tammy and Monica Griffith; brother, Tom Griffith; and many nieces and nephews.
