James Edward Brown, 48, was born April 19, 1963, in Des Moines, and passed away May 29, 2011, from injuries sustained in a tragic motorcycle accident.
Ed loved the outdoors, whether it be fishing, boating or traveling and especially enjoyed riding his Harley. Anyone who knew Ed knew how much he loved to talk and eat. Above all else, Ed was a hard-working man who loved his children and family more than anything in this world.
Ed is survived by his children, Crystal (Nemesio) Brown, James (Angela) Brown II, Lacey Brown and Ashley Brown; grandchildren, Alexis, Destiny, Adryanna, Nemesio, Trinity, Kristina, James III and Stormy; grandmother, Hazel Pinckney; siblings, Dan Wolfe and Rose Lampman; special nephew, Jason Lampman and many other loving nephews, nieces, loving relatives and special friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Nancy and Ed Sink; father, Julius Brown and brother, Frankie Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Ed.

I thought that it must be your younger brother. Then I saw you

So sorry to hear of your dad's sudden death. It sounds as though he died doing what he loved to do -- what more could a person ask than that?! You and your family are in our deepest thoughts and prayers.

My condolences to the children and grandchildren that Ed loves so very much .. I live next door to the Overton/Boley family that Ed became apart of as he and the boys freindship developed. I got to know Ed over the course of the last couple of years and every encounter that I had with him it never failed he brought a smile to my face.
If I was arguing with my teenager he would laugh and say isn't it great momma .. it only gets better. And when I would come out to say hello the first words out of his mouth would be ... "Well hello Blondie" lol .. he would always crack lil jokes to make me laugh and laugh. Recently I lost several pounds from exercising and watching what I ate Ed always told me how good I was doing and how my husband better watch out .. then he would make sure that I knew that he was only kidding.
Some of the little things are gonna be missed so very much. I know when I hear the bikes fire up and roar down the driveway it will never be the same since one of them will not be there. One of the last things Ed said to me was .. "Hey Blondie I can tell you this but I can't tell the boys this meaning Brent, Mac, Shane and Cody is they are wearing this old man out I can't keep up .. I'm going home to bed and it was like 6pm .
Ed you will be forever in my heart and I will always cherish the time we had and that I had a friend like you

Dear Ed's family:
I was deeply saddened to learn of Ed's death and I would like to express to you my sincere sadness and sympathies to you and your family at this difficult time.
Ed & I would sometimes leave at the same time for lunch and chat on our way out of the office. He always had a very positive attitude and a great motivator for weight loss on getting healthy.
Please accept my sincere and heartfelt condolences at this most difficult of times. Frank was a remarkable man and we here still on Earth are all better people for having known him.
He will be greatly missed and we here are all saddened by his passing and our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.

Will always remember the proud Dad who brought his daughter Lacey to work on "bring your daughter to work day" at Blue Cross and my daughter and I went to lunch with them. Will always remember the good neighbor who sent his daughter over with some deep fried morels after going mushroom hunting cuz I said Id never tried them. Will always remember Ed bragging about his beautiful daughter Ashleys latest sport she was conquering ever time I ran into him. He was DEFINATELY a good father who was extremely proud of all of his kids and grandkids and wanted nothing but the best for them. Hope you all can find solace in the fact that God chooses the best ones to take early and there is a reason for everything. Take Care.

What I wouldn't do to have 1 hour for all his friends be able to say there good-byes and tell him how much they loved him and enjoyed the time they had with Ed. He was a awesome friend to my sons and they rode everyday that the weather permitted, sometimes even when it wasn't good. All the good times they had together like ridin to the Rock, goin to Poopy's, and the trip they were planin this year was to go to California and see Ed's son, what fun that would have been for all of them. The things that you miss. My heart goes out to the family, grandchildren, kids and all that knew him and rode with him. I know how everyone is hurting and missing him. Eddy you made such an impact on so many lives. Will miss you coming in the house asking if the shower is open, or don't go in there for awhile haha, or when they all came home and he would knock on the window and tell me "you have a gamblin problem". I like to play on the computer. I could ramble on talking about the things I miss and would like to hear his voice or the waiting for him to ride up the street cause they were all gettin together to go for a ride or maybe seein him on Sunday mornin when he would stop on his way to church and he and Stu would talk about God. I am going to really miss you Mr. Ed and your smiling face. You always made everyone smile. You new how to have fun and always had a helping hand. May your family hold you close always in there hearts with special memories!
