Hallie was born October 11, 1925, in Story City, Iowa, to Hallie and Elsie Swenson, Sr. He served in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the VFW Post 9662 and First Presbyterian Church. Hallie was a meat inspector for the U.S.D.A. He had many hobbies and interests, and most recently he enjoyed gardening. He was a handyman, with the ability to fix everything.
Hallie is survived by his daughter, Linda (Buck) Grabau; grandchildren, Paul Grabau, Jason Grabau, and Kelly Tobey; great-grandson, Jake Tobey; brothers, Robert and Eldon Swenson; and his sister, Ramona McKee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; son, Donald; infant son, William; and grandson, Matthew Swenson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church, 3100 Easton Blvd.
Memorial contributions may be made to Iowa Hospice or First Presbyterian Church.

We want to express our condolences in the passing of your Dad. You may not remember us, Linda, but we used to pay 500 with your parents, Myrtle and Dale Olson and Marian and Andy Hengesteg some years ago. We had some good times.
Ken has been on the first floor at Trinity the last few months. We were up to see your Dad a few weeks ago and had a nice visit with him.
