James Arthur Nichols

James Arthur Nichols was born to Jack and Gloria Nichols on March 24, 1957. He was 54 when he died on May 21, 2011. Jim was a lifelong Des Moines resident.

Jim’s artistic talents were evident from an early age in his passion for playing the guitar and in his imaginative comic sketches. Jim was an animal lover; he possessed a gentle and caring spirit. Jim and his family were blessed with unconditional love for one another. Pain was an increasingly frequent companion to Jim in his later years. He endured it valiantly and with exceptional grace to the end. His smile and laughter will be sorely missed, and his memory dearly treasured by those who knew him well.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria and grandparents, Ray and Wilma McKee and Dale and Albena Nichols. He is survived by his father, Jack Nichols and Jack’s wife Bette; brother, Steve Nichols; sisters, Diane Nichols and Sharon Parry; and niece, Rachel Parry.
