R.L."Dick" Jones

Dick Jones, 79, passed away May 20, 2011, at the VA Hospital. He was born December 28, 1931, the son of Robert and Malvina Jones. Dick served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1955.

He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Dick was an avid NASCAR fan (Jeff Gordon). He enjoyed traveling, camping and motorcycles.

Dick is survived by sons, Doug (Deb), Dennis (Lisa), David (Rhonda), Daryl (Rhonda); daughter, Denise (Larry) Rogers; stepchildren, Rick (Lindsey) Fitch, Deb (Craig) Roberg, Scott (Teddy) Fitch, 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brothers, James (Elaine), Robert (LaMoile), Daniel (Mary); sisters, Isabel (Cliff) Stuewe, Noreen (Fred) Clayton and Alice (Richard) Rogerson; many nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his wives, Donna and Beverly Jones; his parents; and brother, Royce Jones.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial to follow at Iowa Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to family.
