Virginia Moore

Virginia L. Moore, 92, died Monday, April 09, 2007 at Taylor House Hospice. Her body has been donated and no services are planned.
Virginia was born April 6, 1915 in Ceylon, MN. Virginia graduated from the University of Iowa. She was a social worker with Iowa Children & Family Services from 1964 until her retirement in 1981. Virginia was a lifetime member of the University of Iowa Alumni Association, author of the book “Seeing Eye Wife”, editor-in-chief of the Iowa Poetry Association for 14 years and held numerous offices in Alpha Chapter Poetry Society of Des Moines. She was listed among IDEALS Magazine’s best-loved poets. Virginia won numerous national and state poetry awards.
Virginia is survived by her son, Nathan R. Moore; sister, Ramona Morse; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert R. Moore.
